Australia Becoming…Conversations with Mary Graham
An opportunity to learn about the Aboriginal worldview, which is built up of a complex set of ethics and which is grounded in the simple maxim – the Land is the Law.
The conversation will be focussing on Place-responsive learning and we will begin to explore how we might establish a community of inquiry that will challenge the colonial learning systems that we have grown up with.
We’ll be working from the paper “What about place? Education, identity and ecological justice”, by Mary Graham, Simone Thornton, and Gilbert Burgh, which you can find here.
We’d love you to join us. The Conversation will start at 1:00 and finish at 4:00. There is a break for afternoon tea, so you can meet and catch up with an interesting group of like-minded people, and we share a “potluck” of treats (you’re welcome to bring some to share).
Hosted by the Australia Becoming Collective, tickets are available via Humanitix.
