Brisbane West Senior Citizens Centre Incorporated (BWSCC Inc) is a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation whose members are responsible for the stewardship, maintenance and use of the BrisWest Centre at 132 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, Queensland.

We are a registered charity.

Governance

The BrisWest Centre is governed by an elected volunteer committee which runs a healthy organisation guided by our Constitution, Charter, values and mission, ensuring the Centre remains sustainable, welcoming and grounded in strong community leadership. 

Our Committee holds meetings regularly and ensures that processes are followed, administration documented, insurances are in place, building maintained, strategic planning undertaken, governance modernised, finances managed and audited, and that we stay in communication with our Members, hall users and the wider community.

The committee also oversees the provision of the following community activities:

  • Coffee Club

  • Excess Baggage Secondhand Market

  • What’s on Your Mind

  • Terraces by Twilight (in partnership with Wakely’s Properties)

  • Sunday Brunch

  • Australia Becoming

  • Democracy Sausage Stall (at each election, as the hall is a polling booth)

Key capital projects that the Committee are currently working towards include: 

  • AV Replacement

  • Bathroom Upgrade

Our Members

Celebrating the service, dedication and support of our current members, and having been a place of community connection for over 50 years, we acknowledge and remember the efforts and contributions of those who have come before.
