Terraces By Twilight

Community Christmas in Paddington

Each year on the first Friday in December, Paddington celebrates the festive season with Terraces by Twilight, a much-loved annual Christmas market held along Given and Latrobe Terraces. Running from 4pm to 8pm, the event features outdoor stalls, local businesses, food and family-friendly activities, drawing residents and visitors from across Brisbane’s inner west.

The BrisWest Centre, located at 132 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, is a long-standing participant in Terraces by Twilight, contributing activities that reflect its role as a welcoming, community-run hub in the neighbourhood.

Over the years, BrisWest has hosted a popular sausage sizzle, a baby animal farm, and an ice cream truck stationed out the front of the Centre, creating a lively and inviting stop for families enjoying the market. More recently, BrisWest introduced a live reptile show, offering an engaging and educational experience that has become a highlight for children attending the event.

BrisWest’s Terraces by Twilight activities are proudly sponsored by Wakely Properties, local Paddington real estate agents based in Rosalie. Their ongoing support helps BrisWest continue to offer accessible, community-focused experiences as part of this annual celebration.

Terraces by Twilight is organised by Paddington Terraces 4064 Businesses, a local commerce group that brings together traders, organisations and community partners to activate the precinct and support local life. BrisWest is proud to partner with the group each year, contributing to an event that showcases the strength and vibrancy of the Paddington community.

As one of the key Christmas events on the local calendar, Terraces by Twilight brings together neighbours, families, businesses and community organisations in the heart of Paddington. BrisWest’s continued involvement reflects its commitment to connection, celebration and community wellbeing — both inside the Centre and out on the street.
